Spatial Memory

[IMAGE]Subject being tested on Spatial memory task

The Task

Subjects were asked to look at 20 cards with spatial designs for 15 seconds. The cards were laid out in a 5 by 4 matrix. Subjects were shown a target card that was to be found amongst the other 20 cards. The number of attempts the subject made before they were successful was recorded. There were four trials in all, and the average score was calculated.

Results

The average number of attempts before sleep deprivation was 6.3, and 5.7 after sleep deprivation. The difference was found to be not significant.
