Sleep Deprivation

Hand Eye Co-ordination

The task

For my experiment, the subjects had to move a loop of wire from one end of a bent piece of wire to the other without letting the two meet. A timer recorded in seconds and tenth of seconds how long the two were in contact. This task had to be completed in under three minutes, or else 180 seconds was recorded. The time taken to complete the task was recorded, along with the time the mistakes took and the subject's name.

The Results

The average time taken for the loop of wire to be traversed from one end of the wire to the other was 39 seconds compared to 43 seconds after sleep deprivation. This difference was not significant.

The average time the loop of wire was in contact with the main wire was 5.0 seconds, compared with 4.7 seconds after sleep deprivation. This difference also was not significant.
